How It Started & Where It's Goin'
Our family hockey story began in 1996 on a backyard rink constructed by my father, geographically located near two of the best youth hockey centers in the entire world. Playing AAA in those areas and everything that comes with it is a huge part of my family's DNA today.
During a recent visit, I was fortunate enough to be a fly on the wall for a game between the #1 ranked team in North America and another team not too far behind them in the rankings. It was a wholesome, awe-inspiring experience to say the least. From the elite players on the ice, to the former NHL coaches behind the bench, to the well behaved parents in the stands...it was - perfect.

The Saskatchewan Selects Hockey Club is not yet on their level in the hockey department, which is okay. Being on their level is the direction, but it is not the focus right now. The current focus and expectation of myself, players, coaches, parents and anyone who joins SSHC is to emulate the pillars of those organization's success - every single day. When we collectively commit to modelling ourselves off of organizations like the ones mentioned above, there is no end result but success. Whether it be in hockey or in other aspects of life, committing to the SSHC way will give you the tools to be the best at whatever it is you wish to do - hockey or otherwise.
Empathy
Kind, considerate, respectful and well-mannered human beings is what we are at our core. We have the experiences, knowledge and adaptability needed to properly serve the endless list of different people who join the program.
Community
The culture, the hockey community, the people and the overall way of life in Central Canada is very special. It is a privilege to provide a solution for families who want an alternative means to play competitive hockey.

Dedication
Working everyday, all hours of the day, wearing multiple different hats is what we do to make this program what it needs to be. Everyone is responsible for contributing in their own particular way towards the common goal. The organization wants teachable and consistently present people, not problematic people or people who only show up when they feel like it.
"I wanted to take a moment to thank you for all the time, effort, and support you’ve given me during my time on the team. I’ve grown so much as both a player and a person under your guidance, and I truly appreciate the lessons and experiences that being part of this team has given me. I’ll always be grateful for everything I’ve learned from you and the memories I’ve made with the team."
